It’s amazing what forgetting a < /h2> tag will do to a blog.
Especially one that you procrastinate on all day, then publish without checking it first. I do actually know better.
Yesterday was a rough day at work. After two weeks of “training”, I was finally mostly on my own for the day, and attempted to knock out a bunch of the incoming tickets.
Either I’m slow as all hell, or we had a craaaaaaaaaazy high number come in today because it felt like it barely moved ALL damn day, until my manager sent out a short email and asked that people help me out for the next few weeks while I’m gaining my footing. That’s one of three things I’m supposed to do in a day. Uphill climb at the moment.
By the time I got home after the so-so Women In Games event tonight, I was tired, hungry and frustrated beyond belief. I sat down on the step and just put my head in my hands for a moment, and took a shaky breath.
I know it will get easier with time and that a lot of my frustration stems from not knowing the breadth of our policies or the correct path to provide support, etc.
…Patience has never been my strong suit.
It’s also hitting home exactly how much of a cultural difference there is to working for a (very) large corporation, in comparison to a smallish studio, and that’s something that is also just going to take time to get used to. I’ll let you know when I’ve figured it out, because I can tell already it’s going to be quite the journey.
In the meantime, I’m going to snuggle a cat.
