Thoughtful Tuesday – January 7, 2014

Priorities are such a funny thing.

Take last night for example. I had to work today. But at midnight (when I normally head to bed), I still had an episode and a half of Pride & Prejudice to go. Yes of course, I’ve seen it a bazillion times, and will see it a trillion times more. But who needs sleep when you have one Miss Elizabeth Bennett to provide entertainment?

Mentally, my poor brain hasn’t got a clue as to what the heck is going on anymore. I walked into Bed, Bath and Beyond to get a few things tonight and had to struggle to remind myself not to go hog wild on outfitting my apartment – plenty of time to do it in the next few months. But there were a few things that just couldn’t wait anymore. Water filter/pitcher. Sheets. Shower Curtain. Kettle.

Thoughtful Tuesday – December 31, 2013

Official last post of the year!

To borrow Steph’s comment from Facebook I saw earlier today, I’m not going to spend this last post with reflections on the past year. I have been doing that nonstop since LAST December. I have gone through stresses, frustrations and more crying sessions in one 365 day period then I think I have in the last decade. And while I’m sure (scratch that, KNOW) that it won’t be perfectly smooth sailing from here on out (because when is my life EVER thus?), I am confident in myself that I will hang on, perhaps barely at times, but I’ll figure a way through the incoming situations.(I also REFUSE to issue a challenge to the universe to see what else it can drum up, I may not be smart, but I’m not that dumb either!) Thoughtful Tuesday – December 24, 2013

I took an unintentional ‘break’ from writing my last Tuesday entry, but as I worked a full day, then had to navigate from the studio to the Victoria airport on the bus, connect through Vancouver and take a redeye into Toronto…Yeah, it just didn’t come together. I was so tired by the time I got on the plane in Vancouver, I wasn’t even sure I was boarding to the correct destination. Who knows, I could have landed in Tahiti…that would have been an interesting way to spend Christmas!
