I find this idea interesting.
The opposite of love is apathy, and hate is really the same as love. If you’re so consumed with hatred for someone, you might as well be loving them because you’re thinking about them for the same amont of time.
Made me think of two things, 1, if this is even Possible for the greater general world, and 2, if I ever have or can understand feelings of the kind of depth that this quote seems to describe.
(And just as an aside, reading over the beginning of this posts, it seems to remind me a Great deal of how I used to start my philo papers….*shudder*)
About the second point, don’t get me wrong, i’m not saying i’m incapable of feeling either love Or hate, just that I’m wondering if it’s at all possible to feel the kind of ‘epic’ feelings that the poets and everyone seem to try and express…you gotta wonder (or at least I do) if THEY felt it, or if they were just writting pretty words that seemed to go together well in their heads.
Food for thought inbetween reading fanfic and playing with the singing horsies…
